Recall To All Samsung Galaxy Note 7

Lot of threats, lot of plead, lot of efforts, lot of offers. But still we people haven’t turned in their ticking time bomb of a Samsung Galaxy note 7. All because we like being told you can’t fly on a commercial airline with it? Or is it because we are hoping that it will blow inside our parked car and our insurance company will foot the bill for a new vehicle.
But ......

Samsung has announced an expanded voluntary recall on all original replacement Galaxy Note 7 devices sold or exchanged in the United States in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and in partnership with carriers and retailers. They are constantly asking people to power it down, thereby lessening the chances that it would overheat and hurt or contact the carrier or retail outlet where they purchased their device. Samsung also released Note7 charging Restrictions. Consumer safety remains at the highest priority as per Samsung and also they have overwhelming participation in the U.S. Note7 Refund and Exchange Program so far, with more than 93 percent of all recalled Galaxy Note7 devices returned.

To further increase participation, a software update will be released starting on December 19th that will prevent U.S. Galaxy Note7 devices from charging and will eliminate their ability to work as mobile device.

Under this program the consumers owning Galaxy Note7 device can now exchange their phone for another Samsung Smartphone, or receive a refund, under the terms of the expanded U.S. Note7 Refund and Exchange Program. Now the question arise what is this program

U.S. Note7 Refund and Exchange Program: Under the terms of the U.S. Note7 Refund and Exchange Program, you have the following choices

Exchange your current Galaxy Note7 for another Samsung Smartphone and replacement of any Galaxy Note7 specific accessories with a refund of the price difference between devices

Obtain a refund at your point of purchase

Samsung also issued a software update in several international markets that would cause battery to no longer fully charge, thereby lessening the chances that it would overheat and hurt you. When Samsung announced it would launch the same update stateside, cellular service provider Verizon was the only carrier to initially resist. Now Verizon is reversing that decision. Verizon will begin rolling out its update, one that will stop the battery from charging at all. Both the carrier and the manufacturer find this necessary to reach few remaining holdouts that are yet to swap.  Yet, an estimated 93% of Note7 users have come in to their carriers or Samsung dealer and made the switch to the new non exploding model.
