How To Secretly Hide Files Behind Any Image | Geek Winky

Yes, you heard it right. You can hide all your secret files behind a harmless looking image file. No one would be able to guess where you have safely hidden all your secret data. This is an amazing trick that you should try today itself. You can even play a little prank on your friends as well.
To hide data in an image, you firstly need WinRAR or 7-zip installed on your computer and Microsoft Windows with access to the command prompt. If you do not have WinRAR or 7-zip installed on your computer, then it is advised to install it before proceeding further..

Hide Data Secretly Behind an Image 

Following are the steps that should be carry out to complete this trick:-

STEP 1 - Convert your folder which you want to hide in to any archive file.
Here for example I have converted my folder into a rar file name "sample.rar" and i have a image named "nature.jpg" .
Note-These both file must be in same location.

STEP 2 - Now open command prompt and go to that location in which you have stored the files. 
For directly opening cmd in that location - firstly, select the folder. Then, press shift and right-click this will display an option of open command window here. Click on it.

STEP 3 - Then type the following command :

copy/b "image_name.jpg"+"archived_file.rar" "any_name.jpg"

Example, I have used here :

copy/b nature.jpg+sample.rar new.jpg

After this your data has been copied into that image created as a new one with name specified.

STEP 4 - After this you can delete the old two files as your data has been stored in the new image.

Recover Data From Image

Now the time came to know about how to recover data back from the new image created.
For this again follow some steps:-

STEP 1 - Open command prompt in that location.

STEP 2 - Now type the command

copy/b "new_image".jpg "any_new_name.rar"

Example, I have used here :


copy/b new.jpg fresh.rar

NOTE - The name of image should be same as you have specified at the time of creation of new image. Here I have used the name new. Type your file name accordingly.

After this you will get the .rar file with the name you specified containg the same data which you have hided before.


STEP 3 - Extract the file to check your contents.

After extracting you enter into the folder and check all your files.

Carry out all the procedure carefully specially while writing commands enter proper file name.
